Setup Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the hydro wicks are on the hooks
They should be fully setup prior to sending out your package but may have slipped off the hooks during shipping.
Step 2
Fill the top piece (where your plant will live) halfway with potting soil
Make sure you keep the wicks on the hooks and fill in around the wicks as you go.
Step 3
Place your plant in the POT making sure the stem(s) are near the top of the POT and the plant is centered.
You can add/remove potting soil as needed to make sure the plant sits properly
Step 4
Fill in the rest of the POT with potting soil.
Leave about a fingernails worth (~ 1cm or so) of space between the soil and top lip of the POT. It doesn't have to be exact, just a general rule of thumb (no pun intended)
Step 5
Fill the reservoir with water
We recommend letting any water for plants sit out for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. This reservoir is also where you can add nutrients for your plants
Step 6
Put the top piece back onto the reservoir, making sure the wicks are sitting in the water
AND THATS IT!!
The wicks will draw up most of this water if your potting soil was dry. Keep an eye on it the first day or two. We recommend only adding water once the reservoir is empty from this point onward. This mimmicks natural rain cycles and prevents under/over watering.
Step 7
Find the right lighting conditions for your plant
This part is out of our control and depends on which plant species you just potted into your new POT. Click the link below to find out how much light your plant wants.
